FanDuel Limits Are Here: See How Much They’re Willing to Risk

September 14, 2026

We just added something new to Graph Center: live limit tracking for FanDuel. As far as we know, BetUnfair is one of the only places you can see this for a book this size.

This post briefly explains what a limit is, why it matters, and what you can do with it now that wasn’t possible before.

What is a Limit?

A limit is the most a bookmaker will let you stake on a specific outcome before they stop taking that bet, or start shading the price against you.

Sharp bettors have watched limits on books like Pinnacle for years and part of Pinnacle’s reputation is built on offering high limits alongside sharp prices. The idea is simple: a bookmaker’s limit is a real statement of how confident they are in a price.

If a book will happily take a large bet at a given price, they believe that price is accurate. If they’ll only take a small one, they’re less sure, or they’re worried about who’s on the other side of that bet.

Graph Center has plotted this kind of thing before, for sharp books, as a second line alongside the price. Our Historical Data post shows it in action, how much you could bet on a market plotted right next to the price over time. What’s new is that FanDuel now gets the same treatment.

Why FanDuel Specifically?

Until now, this kind of limit tracking mostly existed for sharp, professional-facing books. FanDuel is a different kind of operator: it’s the largest sportsbook in the US by market share, owned by Flutter Entertainment (a publicly traded company on the NYSE), and licensed to operate in 24 US states plus Washington, D.C. as of September 2026. It’s about as established and heavily regulated as a mainstream sportsbook gets.

That matters here. A limit is only a useful signal if the book setting is serious and consistent about managing its own risk. FanDuel’s size and regulation are exactly why its limit decisions are worth tracking in the first place, not a small operator’s numbers that might move for reasons that have nothing to do with the game.

What This Covers?

The limit line is available on every sport and outcome we track for FanDuel, including player props, not just match winners and totals. That matters more for props than it might sound. A book tightening its limit on a specific prop is a stronger tell than the same move on a main market.

One honest caveat: FanDuel doesn’t update limits as often as it updates prices. Pregame, you’ll usually see the price move more often than the limit does. In-play that gap mostly closes, limit updates come almost as often as price updates once the match is live.

Another one worth knowing: the limit you see on Graph Center is a general figure for that match and market, not a guarantee of what any one specific bettor would be offered. FanDuel adjusts limits per user based on their own risk profile.

A bettor they’ve flagged as sharp will usually see a lower personal limit than what’s shown here and a casual bettor might see the same or more. Think of the Graph Center number as the book’s baseline read on the market, not your personal ceiling.

Before and After for FanDuel

For FanDuel, Graph Center used to show you only the price over time. You could see a line move, but you had no way to tell whether that move came with the book getting more confident or less.

Now the same graph carries both lines for FanDuel too: price and limit, together, on the same match. You can watch them move independently and see whether a price change is backed by a rising limit, or whether the limit is actually shrinking while the price barely moves, which is its own kind of signal.

A Real Example: Villarreal vs Real Betis, Bookings Market

Take today’s LaLiga match between Villarreal and Real Betis. Look at the Under 2.5 side of the total bookings market a few hours before kickoff.

The price on Under 2.5 opened at 4.50. It dropped as low as 2.82 at one point, then came back up to sit around 3.50 by mid-morning. On its own, that price swing tells you the market’s view of this outcome moved around but not much about how confident FanDuel actually was behind that price.

The limit line fills that gap. It started low in the 160s to 170s, then climbed through the morning as high as 270 before settling around 250 by the time we captured this. That’s a real increase.

Putting them together: the price didn’t just drift, it moved while FanDuel’s willingness to take real money on this outcome was also growing. A price move backed by a rising limit is a stronger signal than the same price move on its own.

The Takeaway: A price tells you what a bookmaker thinks. A limit tells you how much they’re willing to back that up with real money. Seeing both at once for a book as large as FanDuel, on any sport or player prop we cover is a new way to read a market.

FAQ

What is a betting limit?
The most a bookmaker will accept on a specific outcome before they stop taking that bet or move the price against it. A higher limit generally means the book is more confident in that price.

Why does BetUnfair track FanDuel’s limits now?
We just added it, and as far as we know, it’s rare to find this level of limit tracking for a mainstream book of FanDuel’s size. It works the same way limit-watching has long worked for sharp books like Pinnacle.

Is the limit shown the same one I’d actually get?
Not exactly. It’s a general figure for that match and market. FanDuel adjusts individual limits based on a bettor’s own risk profile, so your personal limit could be lower or higher than what’s shown.

Does the limit update as often as the price?
Pregame, usually not, prices move more often. In-play, the two update at close to the same pace.

Which sports and markets is this available for?
All the sports and outcomes we track for FanDuel, including player props, not just the main markets.
